Spanish Ag Ministry hints at swifter approvals

Spanish Ministry of Agriculture director general Isabel Garcia says the Ministry is implementing measures to “improve pesticide product registrations, making them simpler and increasing co-ordination among the competent authorities”, the national crop protection association, the Aepla, says. She spoke at the closure of a meeting among industry and government representatives in Madrid earlier this month. The parties had been discussing the potential measures of a joint national action plan on sustainable crop protection ( Agrow No 644, p 10). Representatives voted various resolutions on improving the safe use of pesticide products as part of the plan.
