Lier Chemicals to up chlopyralid production
Chinese agrochemical company Sichuan Lier Chemical's board of directors has ratified a proposal to invest Yuan 55.6 million ($8.8 million at the current rate) in expanding and upgrading its current manufacturing plant for the herbicide, clopyralid. The increased capacity for the active ingredient is set to reach 900 tonnes/year. The proposal was discussed at the company's last board meeting on July 25th. Lier Chemical acquired a 51% stake in Chinese company Jiangsu Kuaida Agrochemical for Yuan 170 million ($26.9 million at the current rate) in 2010 ( Agrow No 594, p 2).
