BASF opens seed treatment facility in Brazil
BASF has opened a new seed treatment centre at Santo Antônio de Posse, Brazil. The centre will deliver services for the seed treatment business across several fronts such as product and service development as well as improved training for the sales force through workshops and field days. Investments in the research station amount to $5 million. In addition to the new technology centre, BASF has also purchased an additional 50 ha plot next to the experimental station, expanding its total area to 106 ha. The expansion will provide the structure for the upcoming activities. The number of employees on the site will also increase to 60 from 50 by the end of 2013.
