Canadian approval for DuPont's Acapela
DuPont has received Canadian approval for its fungicide, Acapela (picoxystrobin 250 g/litre), for use on maize, small-grain cereals, soybeans and dry legumes. It controls a range of foliar diseases, including powdery mildew ( Blumeria graminis), rust and Septoria leaf blotch on cereals, leaf blight on maize, and Asian soybean rust ( Phakopsora pachyrhizi) on soybeans. It is recommended for use at 0.4-0.9 litre/ha. DuPont acquired global rights to picoxystrobin from Syngenta in 2006 when it was already widely approved in Europe ( Agrow No 491, p 1).
