US OKs Syngenta's maize herbicides
Syngenta has received US approval for new formulations of its established pre-emergence maize herbicides, Lexar and Lumax. Both contain S-metolachlor, atrazine and mesotrione. Lexar EZ and Lumax EZ are based on the same proprietary capsule suspension formulation technology in its post-emergence maize herbicide, Halex GT (mesotrione + S-metolachlor + glyphosate), the company points out. The formulations are designed to minimise the effects of over-wintering and improve compatibility with fertilisers and tank-mix partners.
