Monsanto to debut new US seed treatments
Monsanto plans to introduce new Acceleron seed treatments for use on soybeans and cotton in the US in 2013. The products contain a new fungicidal active ingredient with “unprecedented defence against Rhizoctonia and Fusarium”, the company points out. They contain “multiple modes of action to deliver more complete and consistent disease protection” and broad-spectrum insect control. Earlier this year, BASF agreed to supply its fungicide, fluxapyroxad (trade-marked as Xemium), for use in combination with pyraclostrobin (trade-marked as F500) in Monsanto’s Acceleron range for cotton and soybeans ( Agrow No 640, p 21).
