Canada approves BASF's Xemium
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has approved BASF’s new fungicide, fluxapyroxad (trade-marked as Xemium). The approval decision includes two seed treatments, two single active ingredient foliar fungicides and two foliar fungicides combining fluxapyroxad and pyraclostrobin (trade-marked as F500). The registrations cover a range of fruit, vegetables, cereals and oilseed crops. BASF intends to market the seed treatments as Systiva and the fluxapyroxad/pyraclostrobin combinations as Merivon and Priaxor. US approvals were granted earlier this year ( Agrow No 640, p 21).
