Brazilian fruit growers call for one agchem monitor
The Brazilian fruit growers’ growers chamber of commerce has proposed the establishment of a single agency to centralise the monitoring and inspection procedures on pesticide residues, particularly on minor crops. It met regulators earlier this month at the Ministry of Agriculture. However, the government prefers to improve the current regime by more closely relating the work among the competent authorities. Monitoring has been carried out by three bodies from the Ministries of Agriculture, Health and the Environment.
