BASF to expand German/US fungicide facilities

BASF is to invest over €200 million ($262 million) to scale up and further integrate production and formulation capacities for several key fungicides, including pyraclostrobin (trade-marked as F500) and fluxapyroxad (trade-marked as Xemium). The funds will drive “significant expansions” at facilities in Schwarzheide and Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Sparks, Georgia, US, increasing production capacity, flexibility and efficiency. It is one of the division’s largest capital investments in recent years, BASF says.
