US EPA allows sulfoxaflor use on cotton

The US EPA has established temporary tolerances for Dow AgroSciences’ unregistered insecticide, sulfoxaflor, on cotton in response to emergency exemption requests. The states of Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana had applied for exemptions to allow the use of sulfoxaflor to control tarnished plant bugs ( Lygus lineolaris). The EPA had scheduled a registration decision for sulfoxaflor for use on cotton, rice, small-grain cereals and soybeans for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2012 ended September 30th ( Agrow No 649, p 15).
