LDC to enter Brazil agchem sector
French fertiliser company Louis Dreyfus Commodities (LDC) is to market pesticides in Brazil from 2013, national business newspaper DCI reports. Its new director of pesticides, Luis Paulo Fogetti, told the newspaper that the company was to move into the global pesticide business with Brazil as its major goal market. The move will initially include selling third-party products, and the company will aim to launch its first product within five years. “We are at an advanced stage of discussions with potential partners in three continents,” he told the newspaper. The company envisages offering pesticide and fertiliser packages aimed at coffee and rice growers.
