EFSA extends access for observers
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is increasing the number of opportunities for observers to attend meetings of its scientific panels, following a successful pilot programme this year. The pilot was launched in March as part of the EFSA’s bid to further increase transparency of the risk assessment process, and to enhance public and political confidence in its scientific conclusions ( Agrow No 636, p 11). The panels are involved in the assessment of a wide range of products, including agrochemicals and genetically modified crops. Access will be given to various meetings over the next ten months.
