China moots more agchem manufacturing approvals
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has issued a draft list for its ninth batch of pesticide production approval certificates for 2012. The list contains 52 approvals, and was published for a one-week public consultation period in early October. Nineteen of the approvals are to be granted to companies based in the eastern province of Jiangsu. As has historically been the case, the majority of the draft approvals are for pesticide processing or mixing of agrochemical compounds. Only two companies would be granted new approvals for the manufacture of pesticide active ingredients if the list were endorsed. They are: Lianyungang Hetian Chemical, for the herbicide, flumetsulam (98%); and Luzhou Oriental Agrochemicals, for the herbicides sulfentrazone (95%) and isoxaflutole (95%).
