Lier Chemical to receive government subsidies
Chinese agrochemical company Sichuan Lier Chemical has been awarded two government subsidies for ongoing projects to upgrade its agrochemical manufacturing plants. The first, valued at Yuan 7.5 million ($1.2 million), will be used in the acquisition and installation of equipment for a 600 tonnes/year production facility for the herbicide, glufosinate-ammonium. The company is also to receive a Yuan 3 million ($480,000) subsidy to assist in the construction of a pyridine pesticide wastewater treatment plant. The subsidies, issued by the development and reform commission of the city of Mianyang, are subject to the successful evaluation of the completed projects. As such, the subsidies will have no significant impact on the company’s 2012 results, Lier notes.
