ECHA consults on labels for three ais
Proposals for EU-wide harmonised classifications and labelling for three active ingredients have been opened to public consultation by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The ais are the plant growth regulator, carvone, the herbicide, dimethenamid-P, and the molluscicide, metaldehyde. Comments are requested by December 7th 2012. The proposed classifications for carvone are skin irritation and skin sensitisation. Those for dimethenamid-P are acute toxicity, skin sensitisation, and hazardous to the aquatic environment. The proposals for metaldehyde are flammable solid, acute toxicity, specific target organ toxicity – repeated exposure, and hazardous to the aquatic environment. EU approvals were granted to carvone in 2008, dimethenamid-P in 2003, and metaldehyde in 2011.
