US to extend topramezone approval to turf
The US EPA has proposed the registration of BASF’s post-emergence herbicide, topramezone, for residential use. The application covers a 2.8 lb/gallon (336 g/litre) suspension concentrate formulation for use on golf courses, turf farms and residential turf. Topramezone is already registered for use on maize, ornamentals and other non-crop applications. BASF began selling its own brand of topramezone, Armezon, in the US this year ( Agrow No 632, p 19). It has been sold by American Vanguard as Impact since 2006 under an exclusive licensing deal. The proposed approval extension is open to public comment until November 23rd.
