Terramera launches bed bug biopesticides in US
The Canadian biopesticide company, Terramera (Vancouver, British Columbia), has launched two neem oil-based insecticides in the US for the control of bed bugs ( Cimex lectularius). Cirkil RTU and Cirkil CX contain 5.5% and 22% cold pressed neem oil, respectively. They are the first pesticides to kill bed bugs and their eggs as a residual treatment, the company points out. The products have contact and vapour action, and provide residual control for up to three weeks. Terramera has debuted the products nationwide following a “soft” launch to pest management professionals in June through the distributor, Target Specialty. The EPA approved the products in May after a proposed registration decision in April ( Agrow No 638, p 28).
