DuPont debuts Cyazypyr in Argentina
DuPont has launched its anthranilic diamide insecticide, Benevia (cyantraniliprole – trade marked as Cyazypyr), in Argentina. It is for use on use on tomatoes. This was the first global launch of cyantraniliprole after it gained approval in the country in July ( Agrow No 645, p 6). It is a broad-spectrum insecticide developed for the control of aphids, stinkbugs, Lepidoptera and Coleoptera. DuPont and Syngenta have agreed to share the costs of registering cyantraniliprole and both companies will commercialise products based on the active ingredient worldwide ( Agrow No 546, p 1). The US EPA has scheduled a registration decision on it for 2013 ( Agrow No 649, p 15). DuPont expects products based on the ai to grow to over $1,000 million in the next few years.
