Canada OKs Monsanto's dicamba-tolerant soybeans
Monsanto has received Canadian approval for its genetically modified dicamba herbicide-tolerant (MON87708) soybeans. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Health Canada approved the crop for food, feed and environmental release in late October. Monsanto expected to notify the Canadian authorities of a dicamba- and glyphosate-tolerant trait stack by the end of the month. The company aims to launch the stacked product as Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Xtend for the 2014 growing season. On-farm testing is planned for 2013 ( Agrow No 635, p 20).
