Syngenta aids Argentines in sustainable farming
Syngenta is introducing a service to aid Argentine crop growers to meet rising sustainability certification regulatory and trading standards. The first stage of the service, Sustentia, will cover 20,000 ha and involve six groups bringing a “sustainable agriculture production guide”, web-based tools for managing field work, specialist training and on-field visits. Soybeans director for Syngenta’s Latin America south regional business Carlos Becco explains the objective as offering farmers “financial support, tools and our know-how in the field, to facilitate their meeting sustainability certification standards”. The company has developed the programme alongside farmers for the past two years.
