United Phosphorus launches flonicamid in India
United Phosphorus (UPL) has launched Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha’s insecticide, Ulala (flonicamid), in India. UPL is in the process of completing its nationwide roll-out of the product. Flonicamid is a systemic insecticide for controlling sucking pests in cotton, rice and vegetables. The two companies agreed a manufacturing deal in India in 2006, when they also planned to establish a joint venture for the development, registration and distribution of ISK products in India ( Agrow No 505, p 1). Many other ISK products are in the pipeline and are to be launched soon, UPL says. The company will market ISK products in India, Australia and other countries.
