Insecticides boost Amvac's Q3
Strong sales of insecticides boosted American Vanguard’s revenues by 23% to $90.8 million in the third quarter of 2012. Sales of crop protection products grew by nearly 25% to some $80 million, while non-crop pesticide sales were up by 10% to some $11 million. Crop protection revenues include a reclassification from operating expenses to sales of $4.1 million in relation to the SmartBox application system for maize soil insecticides, the company points out. That was offset by a $4.3 million adjustment to the cost of sales.
