ECHA seeks views on cycloxydim labels
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is seeking specific comments on questions related to the potential reproductive toxicity of the herbicide, cycloxydim. The issue has arisen regarding proposals for the EU-wide harmonisation and labelling of the active ingredient. Austria put forward proposals in 2011, followed by a public consultation ( Agrow No 623, p 11). During discussions of the proposal and the responses, questions were raised on the interpretation of available data concerning maternal and developmental toxicity effects of cycloxydim and the relevance of the findings for classification. The ECHA invites the parties concerned to comment by November 19th. Cycloxydim was re-registered in the EU in 2011.
