Canada to OK Isagro's Mettle fungicide
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed the registration of Italian agrochemical company Isagro’s fungicide, Mettle 125 ME (tetraconazole), for use on grapevines, gooseberries, strawberries and sugar beet. It is for the control of powdery mildews on these crops as well as black rot ( Guignardia bidwellii) on grapevines and leaf spot ( Cercospora beticola) on sugar beet. The micro-emulsion formulation is applied as a foliar treatment. The registration would give Canadian growers access to an effective fungicide that is already available in the US, the PMRA notes. The decision is open to public consultation until December 31st.
