US approval for FMC's Anthem ATZ

FMC has received US approval for the maize herbicide, Anthem ATZ (Kumiai Chemical’s pyroxasulfone + fluthiacet-methyl + atrazine). It provides broad-spectrum weed control and can be used at pre-plant, pre-emergence and early post-emergence stages. “Anthem ATZ will provide growers with three unique modes of action for those hard-to-control problem weeds,” says product manager Tim Thompson. The combined residual action of pyroxasulfone and atrazine provide longer-season weed control, the company adds. FMC received US approval for Anthem (pyroxasulfone + fluthiacet-methyl) late last month ( Agrow No 652, p 25).
