Canada to OK Arysta's Kasumin 2L
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed the approval of Arysta LifeScience’s bactericide, Kasumin 2L (kasugamycin), to control or suppress bacterial diseases on greenhouse and field-grown fruiting vegetables, pome fruit and walnuts. It represents a valuable tool for managing bacterial diseases, given the limited number of alternatives and the resistance issues and limitations stemming from the use of streptomycin and copper, the PMRA notes. Arysta applied for US approval in 2010 ( Agrow No 591, p 27). The Canadian approval decision is open to public comment until January 11th 2013.
