Monsanto to resume Brazil RR soy IP charges
Monsanto is to resume charges for use of its genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant Roundup Ready soybeans in Brazil. The company suspended charges following a court injunction in October calling for the action due to patent expiry ( Agrow No 650, p 3). Claimants against Monsanto note that the company suspended payments after it had failed in its request to the court to reconsider its order. The same Mato Grosso court has since decided that Monsanto can restart its royalty collection payments, Monsanto says.
