Bayer to build second bee care unit
Bayer CropScience is to start constructing its second bee research facility next year. Work on the North American Bee Care Center is due to start in February, with completion planned for July. The 6,600 sq ft (613 m 2) facility will be located at the business’ US headquarters in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. It will be focused on IPM for the “multiple causes affecting bee health”, the company notes. It established a global bee care centre in Monheim, Germany this year ( Agrow No 635, p 3).
