Australia to OK Nippon Soda's cyflufenamid
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has proposed the approval of Nippon Soda’s fungicide, Cyflamid 50 EW (cyflufenamid), for the control of powdery mildews on cucurbits and grapevines. Cyflufenamid would be a new active ingredient in Australia. The US EPA approved cyflufenamid in June 2012 ( Agrow No 643, p 19), but it was introduced in Japan in 2003 and first registered in Europe in 2005 ( Agrow No 474, p 22). The Australian approval decision is open to public comment until January 31st 2013.
