ECHA reaches opinion on toxicity labels for six pesticides
The Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) of the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) has adopted opinions on EU-wide toxicity labels for six pesticides. Among them are decisions on reproductive toxicity labels following public consultations last year on the fungicide, epoxiconazole ( Agrow No 643, p 8), and the herbicide, cycloxydim ( Agrow No 652, p 10). The RAC maintains its opinion that epoxiconazole’s classification should be changed to a more severe level, while deciding that cycloxydim’s should be less severe than originally proposed. The RAC’s opinions go forward to the European Commission and EU member-state representatives for a final decision.
