BASF to debut Fastac EC in US
BASF has confirmed the US approval of its established pyrethroid insecticide, Fastac EC (alpha-cypermethrin 100 g/litre). The EPA proposed the registration in December 2012 ( Agrow No 654, p 20). It is the first approval for alpha-cypermethrin in the US, but it has been on sale elsewhere for many years. Fastac EC will go on sale in the US this year for use on a range of crops including soybeans and cotton. BASF sees it as a tank-mix partner for its fungicide, Priaxor (fluxapyroxad + pyraclostrobin), which received US approval last year on soybeans and other crops ( Agrow No 640, p 21).
