Evogene launches new tech platform
Israeli bioinformatics company Evogene (Rehovot) has launched its new Gene2Product computational agbiotech platform. The integrated computational platform provides high-throughput analysis of a large number of genes in parallel in order to optimise their modes of use in the end product. This is accomplished through the use of four interconnected sub-platforms, with the fourth of these targeted for incorporation later this year. The sub-platforms are: PlaNet (Plant Network) focused on predicting appropriate gene combinations or stacks to improve trait efficacy; GeneSpec (Gene Spectrum) – selection of preferred functional variants of a gene of interest; RePack (Regulation Package) – prediction of the regulation mode for the gene of interest that will provide the optimal expression pattern; and GeneDex (Gene Index) –prediction of the functional robustness of a gene across different germplasms and environmental conditions.
