BASF launches Heat in Brazil

BASF has launched its herbicide, Heat (saflufenacil – trade-marked as Kixor), in Brazil. It will be marketed variously as a pre- and post-emergence application on crops including cotton, maize, rice, soybeans and wheat for the control of various “difficult to control” broadleaf weeds, as well as a pre-harvest desiccant on potatoes and beans, BASF says. Heat is approved as a water-dispersible granule formulation that acts rapidly in controlling weeds such as horseweed ( Conyza canadensis), a major weed resistant to other herbicides and which is present largely in Brazil, it adds.
