Bayer debuts Specticle G in US
Bayer CropScience has launched a new formulation of its indaziflam-based turf herbicide, Specticle, in the US. The granular formulation, Specticle G (indaziflam 0.02%), requires 40 times less active ingredient than standard treatments, Bayer points out. The herbicide controls more than 80 grasses and broadleaf weeds, as well as annual sedges, it adds. Bayer received its first global approval for indaziflam in the US in 2010 as Specticle ( Agrow No 599, p 20). It markets a wettable powder formulation, Specticle 20 WSP, and a suspension concentrate, Specticle Flo. Bayer gained US food-use approvals for indaziflam on fruit, nuts and grapevines, as Alion, in 2011 ( Agrow No 615, p 28).
