Novozymes debuts bioinsecticides in US
Danish company Novozymes’ US biopesticide subsidiary, Novozymes BioAg (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), is introducing two formulations of its bioinsecticide, MET52 ( Metarhizium anisopliae strain F52), in the US. MET52 EC consists of fungal spores in emulsifiable oil for conventional spraying and MET52 G is a granular formulation of spores on rice granules. They are for the control of thrips, mites, whiteflies and vine weevils on greenhouse ornamentals and protected vegetables. Novozymes gained a US tolerance exemption for M anisopliae strain F52 for all food commodities in 2011 ( Agrow No 615, p 21).
