EU proposes more biocide approvals
The European Commission is pressing ahead with a proposal to approve powdered corn cob as a non-crop rodenticide, despite doubts from EU member states over its efficacy. The active ingredient was in the review of existing ais under the EU biocidal products Directive (98/8). However, it did not receive a positive vote from the EU Standing Committee on Biocidal Products last year. The Commission has therefore forwarded its proposal to EU Ministers.
