Syngenta launches Voliam Targo in Turkey
Syngenta has introduced its combination insecticide, Voliam Targo (DuPont’s chlorantraniliprole + abamectin), in Turkey. It is registered in tomatoes for the control of lepidopteran pests such as tomato fruitworms ( Helicoverpa armigera), Egyptian cotton leaf worms ( Spodoptera littoralis), tomato leaf miners ( Tuta absoluta), and red spider mites ( Tetranychus spp). Voliam Targo is the first product licensed for the control of leaf miners in the country, Syngenta notes. The company launched Voliam Targo last year in Italy ( Agrow No 639, p 24), following its first global introduction into Argentina in 2008 ( Agrow No 557, p 22). The product is also registered and sold in Morocco and is in the registration pipeline in Spain, where the company expects to launch it next year. Syngenta has a global licence from DuPont to use chlorantraniliprole in combination products ( Agrow No 491, p 1).
