Paraguay sets emergency greening controls

The Paraguayan plant health service, the Senave, has called an emergency health alert against the citrus greening disease, or Huanglongbing ( Candidatus liberibacter). Resolution 80/13 sets actions to control and contain the disease, including control of the vector, Asian citrus psyllids ( Diaphorina citri). It will count on the co-operation of the Ministry of Agriculture and the agricultural technology service, the IPTA, in the training of growers, and determining optimum times to apply chemical and biological controls against the psyllids.
