Oxiteno starts US adjuvant production

Brazilian specialty chemicals company Oxiteno (Sao Paulo) has begun the manufacture of agrochemical adjuvants at its new US site in Pasadena, Texas. The company acquired the site last year and retrofited the plant for specialty chemical production ( Agrow No 638, p 4). Oxiteno expects the plant to reach its 32,000 tonnes/year capacity this year. It produces surfactants for agrochemicals and other sectors. The company plans to invest $100 million in the NAFTA region over the next 18 months to expand its production capacity at Pasadena and Coatzacoalcas, Mexico by 100,000 tonnes/year.
