IQV opens subsidiaries in US and China
Spanish agrochemical company Industrias Químicas del Vallés (IQV- Barcelona) has opened two subsidiaries in the US and China. The US office is located in Valdosta, Georgia, and the Chinese one in Beijing. IQV is undertaking “significant statutory investments” in both countries with the aim of gaining commercial authorisations to sell its catalogue products, it says. Chief executive officer Pau Relat notes that the company is seeking to expand its export business. It aims to increase its sales in the regions, boosting its exports which reached €36.8 million ($47.6 million at the current rate) in 2011 ( Agrow No 635, p 7). They accounted for more than half of its business that year. IQV already has offices in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece, and markets products in 55 countries.
