EU updates guidance on zonal agchem assessment
The European Commission has issued its latest revision of guidance on evaluation and mutual recognition of agrochemical approvals in the three geographic zones of the EU. The EU agrochemical registration Regulation (1107/2009) introduced a new process whereby companies gaining approval in one member state can apply for mutual recognition of that approval by other member states in the same zone. Among the issues covered in the latest revision are: applications for zonal and inter-zonal uses; the acceptance of comparability assessments; and clarification in cases of refusal by the zonal rapporteur member state.
