Dow and partners target wheat/canola gains

Dow AgroSciences and its research partners have developed a gene targeting platform for improving canola and wheat varieties. The partnership among Dow, US genomics company Sangamo BioSciences (Richmond, California) and the Australian state of Victoria Department of Primary Industries utilised the Exzact technology platform that Dow has developed under an exclusive licence from Sangamo. The platform that has been developed will allow crop scientists and breeders to make precise improvements to the genetics of canola and wheat that will benefit growers around the world, the partners point out.
