Argentine region grape moth free
The Argentine state of San Juan has been declared as free of European grapevine moths ( Lobesia botrana). A contingency plan was recently implemented after detection of the pest in traps that were set as part of monitoring undertaken since 2010 ( Agrow No 659, p 19). The national animal and plant health service, the Senasa, ratified the region as pest free after failing to detect further examples under contingency actions carried out with the support of the Ministry of Production. They notified growers to carry out the measures, including the application of insecticides.
