Bayer seals ST partnership with Holambra
Bayer CropScience has sealed a partnership with Brazilian enterprise Cooperativa Agro Industrial Holambra with the opening this month of an industrial seed treatment facility at the latter’s base in Paranapanema, Sao Paulo state. The multinational is to provide “innovative structure for industrial seed treatment with state-of-the-art machinery, quality products and seed treatment monitoring processes, as well as training and specialist assistance”, it says. Equipment at the facility will include Bayer associate Gustafson’s seed treatment technology range, which offers “unique seed coating technology”. Holambra is to apply the technology on maize, soybeans and wheat. Another Brazilian co-operative, Lar Cooperativa, co-opened a seed treatment plant in Brazil under a similar deal with Bayer last year ( Agrow No 646, p 3).
