Bayer debuts Serenade Max in Italy
Bayer CropScience has launched its foliar biofungicide/bactericide, Serenade Max ( Bacillus subtilis strain QST 713), in Italy for use on grapevines, fruits and vegetables. Legacy company AgraQuest has sold Serenade in Italy for apples and grapevines ( Agrow No 484, p 22). Bayer acquired the US biopesticide business last year ( Agrow No 646, p 2). Serenade Max is a more concentrated version of Serenade. The wettable powder formulation contains 15.7% of the active ingredient compared with 10% in the original and can be applied at half the previous application rate. It can be used in fields or greenhouses as part of an IPM programme, Bayer notes.
