Wynca sales up 24% in Q1
Wynca Chemical, leading Chinese manufacturer of the herbicide, glyphosate, recorded total sales of Yuan 1,731.3 million ($276.1 million at the current rate) in the first quarter of 2013, an increase of 24% compared with the same period last year. Total sales include those of organosilicone products and agrochemical revenues were not revealed. Agrochemicals accounted for 46% of the company’s total sales of Yuan 6,111 million ($974.7 million) in 2012 ( Agrow No 662, p 3). Operating costs increased by 8.5% to Yuan 1,398.5 million ($223.1 million), while the company made an operating profit of Yuan 118.5 million ($19.9 million), a big turnaround from the loss of Yuan 49.2 million ($7.8 million) recorded in the same period last year.
