US EPA to OK Floratine's biopesticide PGR
The US EPA has proposed the approval of US company Floratine Biosciences’ (Collierville, Tennessee) biopesticide, Carbon Power (complex polymeric polyhydroxy acid – CPPA - 0.18%), as a plant growth regulator for use on fruit, vegetables, nuts, grapevines, field crops, turf and ornamentals. CPPA is a new active ingredient derived from naturally occurring organic matter. It is said to improve germination and seedling development, stimulate root and shoot growth, increase chlorophyll content, improve stress resistance and increase yields. The proposed approval is open to public comment until May 17th.
