Sumitomo launches propyrisulfuron in S Korea

Sumitomo Chemical subsidiary Sumitomo Chemical Agro Seoul has launched the company’s rice herbicide, propyrisulfuron, in South Korea. This is the second national launch for the herbicide after it debuted in Japan in 2011 ( Agrow No 618, p 26), where it is being sold in Japan under the brand names, Zeta-One and Megazeta. The company is launching herbicide mixture products in the two countries this year containing: propyrisulfuron + bromobutide; and propyrisulfuron + benzobicyclon. Sumitomo has also applied for registration of propyrisulfuron in several other Asian countries, including Vietnam.
