EU MRLs reviewed for eight more ais
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has reviewed EU-wide maximum residue limits (MRLs) of a further eight active ingredients, and identified data gaps for seven of them. They are: the herbicides, bifenox, cyhalofop-butyl, dimethenamid-P, isoxaflutole and molinate; the fungicide, propamocarb; and the disease resistance activator, acibenzolar-S-methyl. Failure to fill the data gaps could result in the relevant approvals being amended or withdrawn, the EFSA says. In the case of propamocarb, it identified a possible acute risk to consumers and recommends that EU member states consider measures to reduce consumer exposure. Only the herbicide, propoxycarbazone, had sufficient data to confirm all its MRLs.
