National Organic Standards Board seeks to fill five vacancies
The National Organic Standards Board, a 15-member body that provides policy advice to USDA on organic agriculture, is inviting nominations to fill five upcoming vacancies on the NOSB. The positions to be filled include organic producer (two positions), consumer/public interest (two positions), and USDA accredited certifying agent (one position). The agriculture secretary will appoint a person to each position to serve a five-year term of office that will begin on Jan. 24, 2011, and run until Jan. 24, 2016. USDA encourages eligible minorities, women and persons with disabilities to apply for membership on the NOSB.
